    Key Concepts of the PNMTC, Agogo


    i. The operation of the College campus currently in Asante Akyem, Agogo
    ii. A College that is open to all qualified Ghanaian students and staff without discrimination on the bases of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.
    iii. A resident College for both staff and students.
    iv. A College with an Outreach Centre to coordinate the identification, elaboration and management of specific and practical-oriented, multidisciplinary developmental projects in communities

  5. a. Discipline
    Presbyterian Discipline refers to exemplary character and academic excellence through self-discipline. The products borne out of this discipline stand out from the multitude by their punctuality, devotion to duty, neatness, decent moral behaviour, humility and respect for seniors. Students are nurtured to attain heights which any scholar of repute could aspire to. In addition they are trained to carry out their duties with efficiency and delightful enthusiasm, coupled with a capacity for sustained hard and Christian modesty which enable them to present their convictions without being arrogant or disrespectful. They are nurtured to be people who make statements spiced with honesty, truth and supreme objectivity.

    b. Semi Urban Nature of Campus
    The College campus is situated in a semi urban area with a very cool climate which facilitate good academic work.

    c. Access to Hospital
    The College has access to f ully functional hospital owned by Presbyterian Church of Ghana, which established the College for practical work by its students. This hospital is Presbyterian Hospital at Agogo.
    d. Faith in God
    The College has deep historical root in education Philosophy of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. In view of this, the College is part of Christian Health Association of Ghana. This means Christian principles and activities are clearly promoted. The College through its Chaplaincy Board make this an integral part of teaching and learning and outreach.

    The College has signed a memorandum of understanding with Berea College in Unite State of America. The purpose of the memorandum of understanding is for exchange program for Tutors and Students .

    To Train Quality Nurses And Midwifery as Ambassadors for Health Purpose


    OBJECTIVE

    1. The objectives of the College are:
    2. 1 To increase access to Diploma in Registered General Nursing and Midwifery Training
      2 To improve quality of Diploma in Registered General Nursing and Midwifery Training
      3 To improve efficiency in resource management
      4 To foster closer collaboration with stakeholders
      5 To intensify mobilization and management of financial resources
      6 To nurture staff and students to become ambassador for Christ
    3. b. Without prejudice to the generality of its powers under the companies Code, 1963, Act 179 (herein called the “Code”), the College shall be guided by the following principles in the realization of its objectives.
      i. That in determining the courses and programmes to be taught emphasis shall be placed on a balanced pursuit of the humanities, the basic sciences, the development, application and management of technology, which are of special relevance to the needs and aspirations of Ghanaian in particular and others in general
      ii. That tertiary education in this College shall be available to all Ghanaians who are capable of benefiting from it.
      iii. That research shall be undertaken in all courses which are taught in the College
      iv. That students shall be taught methods of critical and independent thinking, while being made aware that they have a responsibility to use their education for the service of the Church, country and humanity
      v. As far as practicable the students shall be trained to be innovative and entrepreneurial to enhance socio-economic development
      vi. Operationalize local, regional and global needs assessment as the basis for practical outreach programmes in the local and regional communities
      vii. To inculcate in the students ethical, moral and intellectual values that manifest in courage, discipline, fair play, self-motivation and respect for the dignity of an honest life.
